This Fox contra has a powerful sound, especially in the low register. Fox contras are known for their distinctive scale and accessibility. All contrabassoons have different tendencies, but Fox's contras are amazingly consistent. If you've played a Fox contrabassoon, you know what you're getting with this instrument!

This instrument was played professionally in a military band for many years before coming to MMI. It has been well-loved, but has broken in exceptionally well and should be useable for any professional situation a contrabassoon player should need. We do recommend getting a gig bag with this instrument - the case is extremely heavy and has one broken latch.

The check price for this contra is $27,000. It also comes with our 1 year used instrument warranty! If keys fall out of adjustment or pads stop sealing, MMI will take care of this for you in the first year.
