Dating from approximately 2019, this Howarth LXV-VT oboe comes to us in excellent condition. We put it through our repair shop for a full servicing/cleaning prior to listing. Regular play tests are maintained during its time here including routine regulations. The LXV was introduced to the market to create an oboe that would fit between the XL (known in the US market) and the XM (primarily known int he market outside of the US.) The LXV is the synthesis of the 2 models which provides the power and heft of the XL model with the thicker walls and the smaller bore with added projection of the XM. With a synthetic lined top joint to help reduce the risk of cracking, the LXV is an instrument for any level of player seeking a top-of-the-line professional oboe. This instrument has a beautiful rich and resonant sound with great response. Would fit easily into any orchestra, band, or chamber music setting. Allows plenty of flexibility for the player.
