Reed Characteristics:

APEX bassoon reeds produce sound at a slightly higher pitch compared to the typical American bassoon reed, which averages about 55mm. If you tend to play a bit lower in pitch, these reeds may help you out!

These reeds are produced in a climate that fluctuates widely between warm summers and frigid winters. As a result, there is great variation between reeds when seasons change.

The APEX reed features a light tip, making it extremely responsive and easy to play. These reeds offer a flexible feel with a vibrant timbre, making them an excellent pairing for darker bassoons.

APEX bassoon reeds are exclusively crafted from Reedspiration GSP. This cane undergoes a rigorous selection process to ensure every reed meets high standards of performance. Each reed is play tested on a 1990's Fox 601 bassoon.
