About Our Repair Services
At MMI, we focus on providing exceptional woodwind repair services whether the make or model of the instrument is for a professional or student. The attention to detail, repair materials and addition of working with our expert Sales Staff will ensure each instrument completed by our repair technicians is playing its absolute best. Most of our work is done by appointment but we can typically accommodate up to 1-hour of work for walk-in customers.*
Current Repair Rates: $100-120/hour
Walk-in Rates: $120/hour, 15-minute minimum repair service fee
We accommodate school repairs with prior authorization and/or written consent at the time of drop off. Please learn more under FAQ: Payment Options.
*Please note that our repair technicians may need for you to leave your instrument with us for 1-2 weeks to complete the repairs based on the current repair que. Most repairs can be assessed at the time of drop off.

Consigning Your Instrument?
Every instrument listed for consignment with MMI will be evaluated and play tested prior to listing. Our repair technicians will determine the amount of work needed to make the instrument play its best.
Customers can expect to pay a minimum of 1-2 hours of MMI repair labor prior to listing the instrument for sale. There may be some exceptions, but these are determined on a case-by-cases basis.
In order to save you time and money, it's highly recommended that you have a thorough discussion with a repair technician prior to shipping your instrument to MMI for a consignment evaluation.

With almost 25 years of repair experience specializing in double reed instruments, I take pride in the support I give to the world of orchestral music. I’ve had the privilege of studying and learning from many elite bassoon and oboe makers of the world. I bring extensive knowledge to MMI’s repair team and I am confident in my ability to provide exceptional service. I enjoy finding remedies to a myriad of issues that may occur to your instrument throughout its lifetime. Since 2007, I have been repairing instruments and assisting players of all ages and skill levels. Over the years I’ve collaborated with professional performers to develop extensive skills in instrument setup and fine-tuning instruments from a performer’s perspective. I enjoy working on anything from a simple clarinet tenon cork replacement to a bassoon overhaul. Understanding that each player and instrument is different, I attempt to address each player’s unique need so they can get back to making music as quickly as possible.

We look forward to receiving your woodwind instrument for your scheduled appointment or evaluation. Each instrument must include the “Instrument Repair or Consignment Intake Form” which can be printed, signed and emailed prior to receiving your shipped instrument or you may include it in the box.
For appointments, instruments must arrive on or before the appointment date. If you should miss your appointment for any reason, we will happily reschedule you for the next available appointment.
Once in the shop your instrument will be assessed and someone from the repair department will call with a repair estimate. Please make every effort to communicate quickly to approve the estimate. Instruments will be serviced in 1-2 weeks after the appointment date.
