Püchner bassoons from this era feature a warm sound and easy response reminiscent of pre-war Heckels. Many were brought to the US as student bassoons but there are some professional-level models still played today.

About This Bassoon

This Püchner bassoon is in excellent condition. It has been lovingly cared for and restored.

Although it's likely this bassoon originally did not have a high E key, one was installed after market. It plays well and is very in tune with itself. Like many Püchners of this era it is very easy to play, and the Heckel CC2 offers a more robust sound and color. The B1 plays high notes extremely well but does not perform quite as consistently in the rest of the scale.

This is a great intermediate-advanced level bassoon that will help a player achieve a more colorful sound and greater facility than most student-level bassoons. It would be a great step up from a Schreiber, Renard, Moosmann, or other instrument!

Although this bassoon is in great condition, it has seen little playing time in the last couple of years. The bore has been oiled but will likely need a little bit of time to open back up. The owner can no longer play due to health reasons which is why this instrument has come to us.
