The 6000-series Heckel bassoons were mostly built in the 1920s. During this time, Heckel was experimenting with new bore designs that eventually led to the "short bore" design the 7000-series instruments are known for. 

About This Bassoon

Please note that this is a WORLD SYSTEM Heckel! The left hand has French system keywork, but the right hand has German system keywork. The sound profile is also of the German bassoon. If you are not familiar with French system bassoons or World System Heckels, this bassoon will have a very different feel for the left hand. The vent keys also operate in a different way.

This is a wonderful sounding bassoon. We've put a lot of work into overhauling it and getting the regulations for the left hand keys just right. It has a nice scale and responds really easily, as you'd expect for a Heckel of this vintage. Although the stain is faded, the finish is overall in very good condition.

This bassoon has clearly been lovingly cared for over the years and we think it still has a lot of life left in it! This would be a great starter professional instrument for the right person. It also has the original bell ring.

This instrument received an overhaul in our repair shop and comes with our 1-year used instrument warranty.
