TheJoyousBassoon Bassoon Reeds

I was told by staff (not a bassoon specialist) that these reeds would take more air and less embouchure than the Delano reeds that I have been using, which were out of stock. While these reeds did take more air, they also took roughly the same amount of embouchure, and I had less pitch flexibility to show for it. They're not bad reeds, they're actually some of the better ones I've had, but they just aren't my favorite. Aside from how they are to play, which is not bad but not great, they also wore out much faster than the Delano reeds. I rotate between two or three reeds (this time two, both with these and with the Delano reeds), using roughly one a day. These reeds are quickly becoming unplayable, much faster than did the Delano reeds. While extreme weather changes due to the current seasons may have an impact, these reeds are also not handling the cold well, in fact being completely unplayable one very cold morning even after soaking them and warming up carefully. I am not dissatisfied with these reeds, but I am not impressed, either. They are good, reliable reeds, but they have a few flaws to be aware of.
