Rieger Micrometer for Finished Oboe Reeds

When you slip your finished reed onto the flat horizontal tongue you can easily check if you have similar thickness on both blades.

This highly accurate, German-made brushed aluminum table top unit is accurate to .001 mm. This tool can be a great aid in producing a well-balanced reed.

The tongue is engraved with ruled markings to provide accurate measurements of each blade of your oboe, oboe d’Amore, or English horn reed.

Many folks use this tool to measure gouged and shaped cane for balanced thickness before assembling the reed.

The unit is fully adjustable and very stable once set. Overall size is 6 1/2″ x 4″ x 2″.
