Reedspiration Contrabassoon Reed

Like the bassoon reeds, the Reedspiration Contrabassoon Reed is made with cane that goes through a series of tests. This cane is tested for density, hardness, and flexion, and all pieces are selected for an ideal range of all 3 qualities. As a result, these reeds are amazingly consistent. They offer a great balance of tone, resistance, and flexibility. The response of these reeds may be a little heavy, but that can be mitigated with small adjustment to the tip.

Because of the testing measures on these reeds, the brand changes from reed to reed. Some reeds are made with a Rieger K1 shaper, others with a Reed 'n Stuff COB1. Please note, these are the same shape.
