Reeds 'n Stuff Forming Mandrel US COMPACT for Bassoon & Contra Reeds

This forming mandrel takes inspiration from the forming mandrels designed by Don Christlieb. This new version, similar to the original design, pairs perfectly with the Herzberg shape but works equally well with most shapes.

The mandrel includes several engraved lines: one which marks a recommended position for forming the tube, and one which marks a recommended position after beveling. The mandrel has also been extended to include a third line for contrabassoon reeds.

This version is the same as the standard mandrel, but with a smaller handle for easier transportation.
