The Püchner Model 125 Contrabassoon is an all-new model of contra, featuring an innovative key design. All keys operate from the same direction, optimizing player comfort, usability, and accessibility. As a result, this contrabassoon feels incredibly easy to play.
Named to commemorate Püchner's 125th Anniversary, the Model 125 boasts a warm, sonorous, expansive tone. The scale is incredibly even, and the mechanism feature many adjustment screws to fine-tune your pitch as you go.
With the nylon lined pivot screw system, also used on the Model 23 and Superior bassoons, this contra feels smooth and silent to operate. Way less key noise means more focusing on the music you can make!
In addition to 18 mother-of-pearl-style rollers, this instrument features a set of extra key work: E/F# trill, Front F#, alternate Eb for RH 1st finger, 3rd finger Bb key, and an alternate upper vent nested with the C# key.
This instrument comes in a sturdy aluminum case. It is also accompanied by two Püchner contrabassoon bocals, a B1 and a B2.
