This Kronwalt bassoon has been with MMI since September 2024. MMI is the only owner of this bassoon.

The Kronwalt bassoon is a unique instrument, featuring wood sourced, aged, and tone holed by Walter, and key mechanisms built by Wolf. It is the result of the longstanding friendship between the two companies and their people, Rudy Walter and Peter Wolf.

The Kronwalt bassoon has a robust sound that will be great for a player looking for an upgrade from a student instrument. The key work has an unusual feel but can be very comfortable for a player that can get used to it.

Unlike most new bassoons for sale, this one only comes with a single bocal: a Walter CC1. Walter bocals can be indistinguishable from Heckels, so it's a great choice and matches very well with the instrument.

This bassoon could be considered an entry-level professional instrument, similar to the Fox 460. It's a serious upgrade from a student bassoon, but much more affordable than many others on the market.
