We are pleased to offer a limited inventory of F.Lorée Exotic Wood Oboes throughout the year. These are not common stock instruments and you will want to reach out to our oboe department to inquire about specific inventory. All models are available for special order as well.
Violetwood: Hues of light and dark brown, Violetwood is a popular choice for its characteristic mellow sound and rich overtones. Slightly less projection than Grenadilla but offers a beautiful singing-like tone and very easy to blend.
Mopane: Brown with more orange colors, Mopane is a relatively new addition to the F.Lorée production. A slightly harder wood than Violetwood, Mopane adds in a bit more resonance and projection but still lends warmth to the sound.
All models come standard with full conservatory keywork, upper top joint partial synthetic liners, and all tone holes are inserted. AKs come in the standard Lorée cases with nylon covers. Royals come in the Marcus Bonna compact integral cases.
