The latest addition to the Fox line-up, the Maple Sayen (model 880) oboe builds upon the already popular Fox Sayen 880 Grenadilla. With the gold-plated posts and bands and a body of maple wood most associated with bassoons, the Maple Sayens are both sustainable and stylish.
Made of beautiful and sustainable maple wood in a bordeaux finish, the Maple Sayen is 16% lighter than its grenadilla counterpart. There is a synthetic liner in both the top and bottom joints, meaning the instrument is less susceptible to cracking. Maple wood adds a complexity of tone that blends well in woodwind sections and chamber settings but also projects well as a solo playing.
