Through changes in the bore and tone holes, the Fox Model 800 builds upon its predecessor, the Fox 400. These changes lead to a professional oboe with more resonance, fullness, and projection. It also has the breadth and complexity of tone that is required from orchestral playing. It has 18% nickel silver keys with nickel silver hinge tubing and heavy silver plating, metal-lined tenon sockets, stainless steel arbors and wire springs, and an adjustable thumb rest.
