The Fox Model 450 is one of the original Fox Professional oboes. A 'hybrid' model that has a high-quality synthetic resin top joint and a full grenadilla lower joint and bell. This combines the superior tone quality of wood with the peace of mind that the top joint will never crack. This instrument is perfect for schools and doublers looking for a reliable and great sounding instrument with low maintenance.
It has 18% nickel silver keys with nickel silver hinge tubing and heavy silver plating, metal-lined tenon sockets, and stainless steel arbors and wire springs.
