The Buffet R13, legendary choice of professionals, was created in 1955 by Robert Carree and is the most popular clarinet in the world. The R13 Prestige features Buffet's iconic poly-cylindrical bore design, giving it a beautiful, brilliant and focused tone, and allowing for evenness, flexibility, clear response, and excellent intonation across all its registers.

The R13 Prestige clarinet is one of the high-end models in the R13 reed instrument family. African blackwood (Dalbergia Melanoxylon) is carefully chosen for its acoustic and aesthetic qualities. The wood is carefully polished and remains in its natural color. The mechanics are prepared and finished with great precision: internal milling of the holes according to the specifications specific to Buffet Crampon know-how.

The tenons on the body are metal capped, that is to say protected by metal rings, in order to limit the risk of splits. Nickel silver keys (an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel) are cold-forged, copper-plated then silver-plated. The mechanics are carefully assembled and adjusted by expert technicians.
