Anderson Hand Carved Bassoon Hand Rest

The head of our repair department, Eric Anderson, hand-carves these hand rests for bassoon. The design is more ergonomic than a traditional crutch style, and allows for more precise control of the bassoon and more freedom of movement of the fingers in the right hand. These crutches come in a variety of sizes.

PLEASE NOTE!

These hand rests are hand-made and will exhibit small individual differences. The hand rests are made so that the stem is not fixed until the customer specifies the stem size.

When ordering, please specify the stem size of your crutch bracket. The most common sizes are 5/32" (for most professional-level bassoons) or 3/16" (for Fox Renards). Please also specify the size of hand rest you want. They are currently available in small and large.

We encourage you to take a hand rest on trial. Please call the bassoon department about doing so. Please note that if you buy a hand rest online and choose to forego the trial, all sales are final. Thanks for your understanding.
