Handmade in Germany, the Oscar Adler brand bassoons are made by Gebrüder Mönnig. The Adler bassoons are to Mönnig as Renard bassoons are to Fox.
The 74C is a newer configuration. It is a responsive bassoon, with a rich sound and stability supported by its shorter bore design. The key mechanism on this bassoon is extremely well made, and fits very comfortably in the hands of any bassoonist.
This bassoon is made in the compact, long bell cut, and has full keywork up to high E, standard rollers for the pinky keys, and additional rollers for the thumb keys. It also has nickel silver water tubes, a French-style bell ring, and a right hand whisper key lock.
The Adler bassoons come with 2 matched Oscar Adler bocals, and are protected by a Tutti Fagotti backpack case.
The price of this model is $10,915, which includes the check price of $10,600 + 3% processing fees.
