Dating from approximately 2014, this oboe is an absolute treasure! Currently owned by a professional, orchestral musician - this oboe has been meticulously cared for and maintained over the years. Just through the shop for pre-sale, routine maintenance include a check of key fitting, cleaning, and new tenon corks as well as a final play test and regulation. One small crack in the top joint above the first octave has been pinned and sealed. Crackwork checked as part of the pre-sale service. This instrument plays like a dream and looks gorgeous to boot! The Amethyst oboes are a rarity and not many of them come through our shop. With excellent response, great pitch and scale, and a very robust singing quality this instrument would be at home in any performance setting.
