This Fox bassoon has a beautiful finish! The Fox Model II, the original Fox bassoon patterned after Hugo Fox's 5000-series Heckel, is a long bore, thin wall instrument. This bassoon tunes best at A440 and features a stability that makes it great for playing second bassoon parts. This particular instrument has been well-maintained, and features an original Fox bocal and case.

Because of its age, this bassoon features some outdated features such as the bocal and it has not been treated for high resonance. As a result, we feel this bassoon compares most favorably with a Fox 222 or 220 than a modern Model II. This would be a great option as a starter instrument with full keywork, for an enthusiastic student or hobbyist.
