The Lyra Baroque Orchestra
Lyra is a nonprofit Baroque music ensemble based in Saint Paul, Minnesota which has been performing regionally and internationally since 1985. Fundacion Frances Colon Oboe Workshop 2010

Held at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, this year's event will feature artists: Mark Ackerman, Dr. Nancy Ambrose King, Jason Lichtenwalter, and Dr. Frances Colon. 2010 MSCM Summer Jazz Work Shop
McNally Smith College of Music Summer Jazz - Workshop June 26th - July 1st, 2010
This popular workshop is open to musicians of all skill levels(including vocalists), offering an immersion in jazz music and improvisation. Students will be instructed by members of the McNally Smith faculty (led by trombonist Scott Agster) and top musicians from the region, whose credits include touring experience with everyone from the Artie Shaw Orchestra to Prince. Programming includes ensemble training, improvisational theory and technique, master classes, jazz history and more. The Jazz Workshop culminates with a live student is designed for ages 13 and up. Formerly called "Summer Jazz Workshop"

A recently released book written by Roger Frisch, Associate Concertmaster of the Minnesota Orchestra, is now available to answer all sorts of questions about taking orchestra auditions. This is a downloadable book called, "The Orchestra Audition: How to Prepare", and can be accessed through the website:orchestraaudition.com. This book is written to apply to ALL instruments of the orchestra: brass, winds, strings, and percussion. Included is a bonus book "Most Commonly Asked Orchestral Excerpts".
