Our selection of new oboes is among the best in the nation. We stock a wide variety of intermediate through professional level, full conservatory instruments from the top manufactures in the world – Lorée, Marigaux, Howarth, Buffet, and Fox. We frequently have instruments hand-selected for us in Europe by top orchestral players such as Nathan Hughes (Principal Oboe, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra), Frank Rosenwein (Principal Oboe, Cleveland Orchestra), and Dwight Parry (Principal Oboe, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra), just to name a few. We also will send our oboe specialists to hand-select instruments in Europe as well. This kind of personal attention and hands-on instrument selection promises some of the best instruments you will ever play!
Our Current New Oboe Selections
We are pleased to offer a high level of used oboes, ranging from intermediate through professional level instruments. Our instruments are carefully evaluated for condition, playability, stability, and many other factors. All used instruments are given a thorough play-test upon arrival, and instruments that are selected for the consignment program are then sent through our repair shop for a necessary pre-sale tuneup. This process allows us to offer a selection of used instruments that are of the utmost quality from our shop to your hands. The evaluation process means that when you get an instrument from our selection of used oboes, you’ll be receiving an instrument that was selected by Jeff and Steven and worked on by our repair staff. We always have a flow of used instruments coming in, and we keep our website up-to-date of all our current consignment horns.
